Smiths Interconnect is proudly introducing Hypertac Green Connect™, an advanced design of the hyperboloid contact to solve the absolute fundamental problem of power loss to allow the battery use every kWh of energy efficiently. Hypertac Green Connect™ is a new lead-free and beryllium-free hyperboloid high-power contact technology that enriches Smiths Interconnect's already established high reliability contact technologies for demanding applications. As the world witnesses once in a century change, from use of fossil fuel engines to electrified drives, the use of battery has become central to the various systems' design. Interconnect solution is one common link between all the end use applications and currently the connectors are doing disservice as a staggering amount of energy is lost due to power loss created by high contact resistance.
Hypertac Green Connect™ Contact Technology offers a Lead-free and Beryllium-free high power contact solution with unparallel low contact resistance. The lower contact resistance of the Hypertac Green Connect hyperboloid contact reduces heat build-up allowing the contacts able to handle far greater current in smaller contact assemblies without adversely effecting temperature rise. Thanks to the improved crimp design of the socket offering an increased contact area between the contact body and the multi-stranded cable, Hypertac Green Connect™ solution can offer an unrivalled low contact resistance.
